This Swedish word for cottage dates back to the early nineteenth century. It was relative commonplace for Swedish families in urban areas to own modest cottages in rural parts of the country. The Stuga is defined by countryside leisure near woods and water. Modern sources maintain that nearly 50% of the Swedish population enjoys access to a Stuga.
The Nordberg family has enjoyed many Stuga-filled summers over the years. The Nordberg Stuga is a tribute to the family’s Scandinavian heritage. Throughout the years the modest cottage has provided leisure and relaxation to family and friends. Favorite daytime activities include swimming, sunbathing, kayaking, canoeing, fishing and hiking. The nighttime transition brings about cookouts, board games, reading and campfires.
In 2011 the benevolent Dr & Mrs. Robert E. Nordberg had a thought: the Stuga lifestyle should be made available to everyone! And so, in an act of incredible generosity, the couple decided to donate the Nordberg Stuga to the Litengard Franchise. Upon receipt of this gift the Litengard team set straight to work in preparing the Stuga for the grand opening of “Litengard on the Lake” in late spring of 2012. The grand opening is set to reveal a 4-season Stuga; an expansion of the original cottage featuring a modern kitchen, spacious dining area, contemporary bathroom, and the addition of the Litengard Loft.
Litengard invites you to create your own personal Stuga experience!
